Position Overview:
As part of our Danbury Operations team, the Manufacturing Technician is responsible for developing and assembling high precision products with a focus on customer satisfaction and production support. Working with high precision Opto-Mechanical products, this individual will have the opportunity to be mentored and work hands on within a growing and evolving aerospace and defense environment.
Responsibilities:
Strong mechanical and Optical aptitude and assembly skills
Ability to read blueprints and work from assembly drawings
Ability to effectively troubleshoot a mixture of products, repair, reassemble, and test
Be a self-starter, who will work independently on production assemblies and repairs
Familiarity with micrometers, calipers, multi meters, and other measuring tools
Ability to multi-task on a variety of technical jobs while keeping the work organized
Openness to cross-training within the department to learn other skills and work processes
Experience with optics a plus
Ability to work with high-tolerance specifications a plus
Using Standard work Instruction and established guidelines assemble components on assigned programs. May include optical components, electro-optical components and assemblies
Fabricate hardware, equipment, tools or prototypes from drawing or sketches
Assist in maintaining productivity and efficiency, while meeting scheduled delivery dates and consistently upholding compliance
Identify and correct minor processes, material, designs, or equipment
Develop the ability to read and understand Material Safety Data Sheets in handling hazardous chemicals
Work with micrometers, calipers, multi meters, and other measuring tools
Assisting in maintaining productivity and efficiency, while meeting scheduled delivery dates and consistently upholding compliance
Multitasking on various production assemblies and repairs
Critical Structure Bonding
Surface Preparation (Grit blasting)
Surface Cleaning
Water Break
Primer Application (Spray guns)
Epoxy (Material Mixing & Degassing)
Sher Test Samples
Required Qualifications:
High school or equivalent
2 years of experience
Must be mechanically inclined with a curiosity and aptitude to learn
Computer proficiency with the willingness to learn new technologies
Ability to speak up as appropriate and escalate issues as required
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to maintain a high degree of flexibility and assist others as needed
Solid written and verbal communication skills
Critical Structure Bonding
The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Government Security Clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
Mechanical and/ Optical aptitude and assembly skills related experience

This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Government Security Clearance.
This position also requires U.S. citizenship in support of contract requirements.
