Director of Assessment (Finance)



The College of Education seeks a forward-thinking, analytically driven Director of Assessment to lead college-wide assessment systems that support institutional effectiveness, accreditation, and continuous improvement. This role emphasizes advanced quantitative analysis, the use of digitally modern tools,and the ability to translate data into actionable insights for academic excellence. The Director reports to the Associate Dean for Student Success and Decision Support and collaborates across departments, programs, and central offices.• Master's degree in Educational Measurement, Quantitative Research, Higher Education, or related
field; Doctorate preferred.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in academic assessment, institutional research, or analytics
roles.
• Expertise in applied statistics, data visualization, and educational analytics.
• Proficiency with modern data systems and visualization platforms (e.g., SPSS, R, Python, Power BI,
Tableau).
• Demonstrated success in managing digital assessment platforms and accreditation processes.

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience supporting educator preparation programs and accreditation (e.g., CAEP, Florida DOE).
• Familiarity with AAU priorities related to student success, data transparency, and continuous
improvement.
• Background in predictive analytics or learning analytics for student achievement and equity.
• Experience in a large, multi-campus university with centralized data structures.Working at USF

• Lead the design and implementation of data-driven assessment systems for academic and
co-curricular programs.
• Align assessment with university-wide metrics, AAU benchmarks, and accreditation standards (e.g.,
SACSCOC, CAEP).
• Ensure assessment practices promote continuous improvement, equity, and accountability.

Quantitative Analysis and Reporting
• Apply advanced quantitative methods to measure learning outcomes, course performance, and
institutional effectiveness.
• Conduct statistical analysis of student success indicators (retention, progression, completion,
licensure, and placement).
• Create dynamic, interactive dashboards using platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, or other
visualization tools.
• Develop predictive models and benchmark analyses to support planning and intervention strategies.

Digital Systems and Data Management
• Manage and optimize modern assessment technologies (e.g., Watermark, AEFIS, Canvas Outcomes,
Qualtrics).
• Design digital workflows for assessment data collection, rubric scoring, and automated reporting.
• Ensure data integrity, compliance, and accessibility through effective systems integration and
documentation.

Accreditation and Institutional Effectiveness
• Lead the assessment components of state, federal, and professional accreditation processes,
including data reporting and evidentiary documentation.
• Support the Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) and assessment components of strategic and
academic planning.

Collaboration and Capacity Building
• Partner with faculty, department chairs, and academic leaders to build a culture of evidence-based
practice.
• Provide professional development on digital assessment tools, data interpretation, and actionable use
of results.
• Serve as a key connector between academic units and USF's Office of Decision Support. Apply
