Sr Financial Analyst (Finance)

This role plays a critical role in supporting the company's readiness for Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) 404(b) compliance. This includes being a reviewer of high-risk accounting entries with an emphasis on process improvement and thorough documentation of reviews. Strong cross-functional team collaboration is required to ensure that control documentation is complete, accurate, and aligned with regulatory expectations. This role requires a strong understanding of SOX requirements, internal controls, and financial processes.
What you'll be doing

  • Collaborate with the gross-to-net revenue team and functional leaders to identify and implement process improvements, drive operational efficiency, and support automation initiatives. Leverage public company experience to ensure compliance with SOX 404(b) and maintain robust internal controls.
  • Partner with the inventory team to streamline the monthly review and analysis of excess and obsolete inventory. Ensure documentation is thorough, audit-ready, and aligned with SOX 404(b) standards, demonstrating strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to process optimization.
  • Serve as the final reviewer of complex gross-to-net accounting entries, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with internal control requirements.
  • Apply a deep understanding of SOX 404(b) to validate documentation and support audit readiness.
  • Lead key report initiatives in collaboration with the Director of Accounting & Internal Controls, taking ownership of the completeness and accuracy of key financial reports. Use public company experience to enhance reporting processes and ensure alignment with regulatory expectations.
  • Support company-wide scalability initiatives by working with accounting leaders on data management, cleansing, and process standardization. Recommend and implement improvements that enhance efficiency and control effectiveness across financial operations.
  • Act as a primary audit liaison for internal and external auditors, providing detailed and timely support for both controls and substantive testing. Demonstrate a strong grasp of SOX 404(b) compliance and public company audit requirements.
  • Perform ad hoc financial analysis and support special projects as requested by senior management. Deliver high-quality insights with efficiency and precision, contributing to strategic decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Identify and recommend opportunities for automation and system enhancements that improve the accuracy, efficiency, and scalability of financial processes and internal controls.
  • Mentor and support junior analysts, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and high performance within the finance team.
  • Holds oneself and others accountable to conduct business in a manner compliant with Bioventus' Code of Compliance and Ethics, policies and procedures and internal controls applicable to their role.
  • Other duties or projects as assigned.

What you'll bring to the table

  • B.S. or B.A. in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in Public Accounting at the Senior level or above
  • Oracle Planning and Budgeting Cloud Services (PBCS), Microsoft Excel, SAP, Kinaxis, Vistex
  • Practical, results-oriented team builder with superior analytical, project management, and problem-solving skills, while maintaining a positive attitude.
