  • High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution
  • A minimum of two years' office or administrative experience OR a possess a Bachelor's degree

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Experience supporting a recruiting or HR department in a high-volume environment
  • Familiarity with applicant tracking systems
  • Understanding of basic HR compliance and onboarding practices
  • Experience coordinating interviews, travel, or candidate communications
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities with accuracy and efficiency
  • High level of discretion in handling confidential and sensitive information
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (especially Outlook, Excel, and Word)
HR Administrator

Salary Grade 2

Howmet Aerospace has an opportunity for an on-site HR Administrator in our Whitehall, MI location! Reporting to the Employment Manager, this role provides essential administrative support to our high-volume Talent Acquisition team. The HR Administrator will play a key role in managing candidate activity and ensuring a smooth and efficient onboarding process through a wide range of coordination and support tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and update the applicant tracking system (ATS)
  • Manage candidate statuses and dispositioning within the ATS
  • Own the job requisition process, including data input, manager coordination, approvals, and job posting
  • Schedule interviews and coordinate candidate travel and expense reimbursement
  • Conduct initial candidate phone screens
  • Issue visitor badges and coordinate onsite interview logistics
  • Conduct professional reference checks
  • Coordinate and track pre-employment requirements (e.g., physicals, background checks)
  • Assist with internal audits and documentation for compliance purposes
  • Ensure accuracy and confidentiality of sensitive candidate and employee information
  • Other duties as assigned
