District Employment and Dual Citizenship:
As a Federal Reserve System National Business Line, it is standard practice to post FRFS positions in all twelve Districts to provide transparency and equitable opportunities for all FRS employees to apply. Internal Candidate(s) selected for this position will remain employed by their current employing District and serve as an employee of FRFS. The selected Candidate's new job title and associated pay range will be determined by the employing District and will continue to be subject to the employing District's people policies and practices (i.e., remote/hybrid work posture, etc.).

Responsible for processing Image and Data files through the payment processing platforms. Interprets and utilizes prescribed policies, rules and procedures in processing incoming image files and preparing items for release to financial institutions or other Federal Reserve Offices. Collaborates between units to ensure operational commitments and service levels are achieved.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive, scan, process and dispatch all items via FedEx, UPS, USPS, and courier deliveries.

  • Print, burst and dispatch Image Replacement Document (IRD) daily work.

  • Researches and responds to customer inquiries and/or needs.

  • Possesses intermediate working knowledge of operating systems and demonstrates confidence under pressure

  • Possesses skills to work in a dynamic and frequently changing environment

  • Possesses and demonstrates team-oriented work ethic and effective verbal and written communication skills

  • Demonstrates professional customer service with integrity and accuracy

  • Takes personal responsibility to maintain and advance personal knowledge of various systems and business needs.

  • Performs assigned Processing functions under minimal supervision and capable of managing daily responsibilities within timeframe

  • Understands the demands of supporting an operation and possesses the required knowledge, skills, and temperament to rotate from a task when operational issues or demands take

  • Performs other duties as assigned

  • Performs tasks and monitors Check Processing functions according to the processes and procedures, including researching, resolving and/or escalating issues when appropriate

  • Utilizes technical and problem-solving skills to identify issues, analyzes potential causes, and recommends a resolution.

  • Performs research to resolve exceptions errors by validating data and preparing correspondence to customers.

  • Addresses and resolves customer inquiries regarding ACH and Check transactions for internal and external customers, including Government Agencies. Uses customer support tools to log, track, and monitor customer calls. Assists customers with questions regarding policies and procedures; Handles most issues and customer problems; Processes, verifies, balances and prepares reports of transactions, updates and maintains databases.

  • Maintains a strong working knowledge of the funds and securities transfer applications and required databases, local and standard operating procedures, Operating Circulars and Regulation J.

  • As required to supplement the offline unit, it executes irrevocable individual transfers of funds and treasury and government securities for participating institutions nationwide.

  • Assists Financial Institutions with sending Fedwire payments under contingency situations.

  • Assist other business units with their work tasks and job responsibilities that may require working specified times to accommodate customer or business needs.

  • Troubleshoot, research, and resolve routine issues. Notify department management of issues and/or problems.

  • Complete ad-hoc work assignments when assigned

Education: High School Diploma or GED

Experience: Less than two years
