Field Service Engineer (Engineering)



The Field Service Engineer performs testing, troubleshooting, analysis and repair of low, medium, and high voltage electrical power distribution equipment and systems. Equipment includes protective relays, circuit breakers, switchgear, power transformers, generators and more. This position is based at our Middletown, CT engineering office, but much work will occur at customer sites.

Lead on-site maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning efforts at customer facilities throughout the Northeast, primarily Southern New EnglandManage small to large engineering projectsPerform protective relay testing at customer sites, both independently or as part of a teamInterface with employees and customers in coordinating work at customer sites, executing the work, and resolving problems as they ariseUtilize engineering skills and applicable codes and standards to implement electrical systems that are safe, dependable, and cost-effectiveProvide technical support and quality control for assigned projectsProficient in reading and accurately interpreting power system wiring diagrams, including DC elementary drawingsAdhere to all electrical safety proceduresDemonstrate a solid theoretical understanding of electricity and strong problem-solving skillsCommunicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with customers and peersExhibit dependability, responsibility, good judgment, and organizational skillsProvide strong customer service, time management, and follow-up skillsBe available for flexible hours, weekends, holidays, and out-of-town work as needed
