Due Diligence Specialist, Real Estate - Lakeland (Real Estate)

The Real Estate Assets department manages our real estate portfolio including leasing and property management for company-controlled centers as well as acquisition of new development locations, acquisition of existing Publix-anchored shopping centers, disposition of excess space, and the fee development program for new developments and redevelopment. The Due Diligence Specialist will manage, direct, and coordinate due diligence activities associated with acquisition, development and disposition transactions.
What you'll do:
coordinate, analyze and complete functions and activities associated with contract management, legal document analysis/abstraction, and critical dates tracking of all real estate acquisition, disposition, and development transactions
manage and coordinate due diligence activities on all of Publix's real estate acquisition, disposition, and development transactions
coordinate and complete transaction closings and coordinating any post-closing matters
coordinate, manage and onboard vendors and 3rd parties involved in transactions, along with miscellaneous items for all of Publix's real estate acquisition, disposition, and development transactions
High School diploma or its equivalent
1-year full time service with Publix or at least 2 years' experience in a Real Estate related field
knowledge and understanding of real estate and legal terminology
ability to work independently with little to no supervision, must be self-motivated
professional writing skills

ability to read, understand and explain various legal documents
excellent organizational, prioritization, planning and project management skills
ability to effectively delegate tasks and hold others accountable and responsible for completion of those tasks

Bachelor's degree in a business-related field
5 years in Publix Real Estate with experience in various technical Real Estate areas (Lease Administration, due diligence work)
paralegal certification or real estate related paralegal experience
knowledge of Publix's real estate operations
knowledge and familiarity with Publix's company-controlled properties
knowledge as to how to read legal descriptions
knowledge of the development process
knowledge of title matters
knowledge of Publix's processes related to Lease Administration
must have fundamental knowledge of Publix and Real Estate team structures and concepts
advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access)
intermediate skill level in the following: TriRiga “Compass”, SAP, GeoPortal, SharePoint, Landmark
