Manufacturing Technician II (Manufacturing)

At Polysciences, we take chemistry beyond the ordinary. We produce and sell specialty chemicals for several industries including pharmaceuticals, electronics, academic research and personal care. We need driven, detail-oriented team players to support our growing operations and customer base and identify further opportunities for growth.

We're looking for an Overnight shift (5:30pm-5:30am), 4 days per week,  Production Technician to:

  • Document production activities on batch record using good documentation practices that are fully compliant to the company QMS.
  • Train and independently run commercial batches to established standards.
  • Document all product quality issues on batch record and to supervisor through immediate email communication.
  • Support investigations and corrective action activities as needed by area leadership.
  • Train and comply with ISO procedures and batch records that apply to designated production processes and production areas.
  • Support company inventory management goals to reduce inventory disposal costs by adhering to inventory control procedures, minimizing process waste, and accurately recording inventory usage.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE at all times.
  • Maintain a clean work area and perform 5S sustain activities to be audit ready at all times.
  • Perform routine equipment and laboratory preventive maintenance and cleaning.

Education & Skills Required:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent with 3-5 years' experience in a laboratory manufacturing setting preferred, but not required.
  • Experience working in an ISO 13485 environment desired.
  • Basic knowledge of Chemistry glassware and equipment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products
  • Mechanical knowledge and aptitude
  • Ability to understand and execute approved batch instructions.
  • Experience with chemical handling is required.
  • Ability to clean and maintain production equipment (reactors, blenders, filtration vessels, scales, carts, and miscellaneous glassware)- required
  • Experience with hand tools to assemble production equipment - required
  • Experience working with controlled documents and established operating procedures.
  • Good Documentation Practice
  • Ability to read and understand an MSDS.
  • Forklift certification preferred
  • Experience being involved in quality audits preferred
  • Commercialization scale up experience preferred
  • Previous OSHA/HAZwoper training preferred

Qualifications

Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) preferred.

ERP systems preferred.

Electronic maintenance programs preferred.

  • Experience running a blending, compounding, or purification operation using common chemicals found within industry.
