Job Title: Product Developer I - Teva

Reports to: Manager, Product Development - Teva

Location: Goleta, CA (Hybrid)

The Role

As a Product Developer I for Teva Footwear, you will support the product creation process from the initial brief and design stages through to final prototyping and salesman samples. You will be responsible for generating and maintaining accurate Bill of Materials (BOM) for all projects, participating in the review and evaluation of project status, and assisting in product teardowns to evaluate construction, comfort, or cost concerns.

Your Impact

  • Support the product creation process from brief stage and design through final prototyping and salesman samples.
  • Generate and maintain correct Bill of Materials (BOM) for all projects.
  • Participate in the review and evaluation of project status with the product creation and development teams with focus on patterns, mold processes, materials, pricing, yield & cost analysis, manufacturing processes and end use performance.
  • Participate in product teardowns of samples or competitor product to evaluate construction, comfort, or cost concerns.
  • Execute developmental projects according to critical timelines and cost/margin targets.
  • Facilitate timely creation, delivery, and approval of all relevant technical information (shell patterns, 2D's, 3D's, lasts, patterns, blue-prints, cost sheets, etc.)
  • Assist in the diagnosis of fit/wear and commercialization issues and ensure that product offerings are proven and tested successfully commercialized and mass production.
  • Track and manage sample delivery to ensure all meeting dates are hit.
  • Execute timely approval of production confirmation samples to ensure a smooth transition into commercialization.
  • Strive for continuous improvement in production through periodic examination of defective returns.
  • Travel to development factories and trade shows, as necessary.

Who You Are

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 2-4 years' experience in the footwear industry.
  • Experience in building product specifications.
  • Understanding of material applications for product use.
  • General knowledge of product constructions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft and Adobe applications.
  • Exposure to FlexPLM or similar systems.
  • Shows curiosity and interest in the unique skills, experiences, and world views of teammates and learns from them.
  • Leverages opportunities to learn something new.
  • Takes responsibility for understanding performance expectations and meets those expectations.
  • Takes initiative, executes on ideas, and owns decisions and outcomes.

$85,000 - $90,000

The salary range posted reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this role in Goleta, CA. Individual pay will be determined by location and additional factors, including job related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
