Pay: Based on experience starting at $22.25/HR + $.35 Shift Premium

2nd Shift: Monday- Friday 3pm- 11pm

Job Purpose:

The primary role of an Utility Operator is to demonstrate ownership and responsibility for a set of machines, pieces of equipment and/or processes within their working area. This includes carrying out the routine operational tasks required to achieve area targets e.g. starting-up, shutting-down, monitoring, cleaning, and carrying out basic changeovers, minor repairs, routine checks , reporting and inspections, and the use of basic ancillary equipment and computer programs.

What are we looking for?

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school or GED
  • Previous manufacturing experience
  • Previous mechanical training or background
  • Willing to obtain a Tow Motor License (Mars will train and support)
  • Competent with computer software's (Ex: MS Office)

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent lifting/carrying (10-50 lbs.) and frequent pushing/pulling (50-200 lbs.).
  • Frequent handling/gripping/bending/stooping
  • Ability to work at elevated heights off a ladder or platform, climb stairs, leaning over equipment
  • Ability to stand and / or work on feet for extended periods
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule as needed to support production needs and to conduct multi-task work in a very fast paced work environment
  • Able to handle hot and cold temperature environments
  • Ability to read, write and understand English

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ year of experience in a manufacturing setting
  • Experience in Utility

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Accountable for the performance of several machines, processes, or pieces of equipment - by following good hygiene practices & manufacturing practices.
  • Complete daily and weekly sanitation and preventative maintenance (PM)
  • Monitor all activities on all production lines, immediately reporting downtime to Supervisor, Maintenance and/or Quality Assurance
  • Facilitate good communication and planning with supervisor and operators to ensure changeovers are done timely and effectively, optimization of production lines, quality checks are being performed, schedules are achieved with little downtime, waste is reduced or managed effectively.
  • Escalate issues as appropriate, give full and accurate verbal and written handover
  • Obtain a Tow Motor license
  • Any ad hoc requests
