Position Summary

The Financial Analyst – Allowance for Credit Losses (ACL) is an important role in the generation of the current expected credit loss (CECL) estimate process.  This position will be responsible for assisting in the performance of certain tasks within the calculation process of the overall ACL reserves for each entity within Wintrust.  This includes assisting with ensuring the completeness and accuracy of data utilized in the calculation process.  The position will also assist in the documentation of quantitative and qualitative factors, assist in performing portfolio & variance analysis, assist in the production of internal management reports, and assist in preparing SEC reporting disclosures.

What You'll Do

  • Develop an understanding to effectively and efficiently utilize software solutions for the ACL process.  Will be responsible for assisting with data movement, reconciliations, data assumption inputs, variance analysis.

  • Assist in providing variance analysis on various credit related metrics on a monthly basis.  Requires collaborating with internal stakeholders to understand the key inputs into models and their impact on results.

  • Assist in creating and distribution of data and reports provided to internal management as well as required reports for external auditors and regulators. 

  • Assist in preparation of SEC Reporting disclosures for external filings.

  • Assist in proper documentation of all processes and procedures.

  • Ad-hoc projects as requested.

Qualifications

  • 0-3+ years of experience in a business setting, financial services preferred.

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred, with relevant educational or work background that can be utilized in key accountabilities.  Accounting, Statistics, Math, Finance, Programming and Systems, Economics, Data Analytics, and Modeling are relevant fields.

  • Competent writing and communication skills with the ability to prepare documentation, reports, and presentations.  Critical thinking and problem-solving skills also desired.

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite including Excel, Word, PowerPoint.

  • Prior accounting work experience in allowance for loan and lease losses and an understanding of the new accounting pronouncement related to Financial Instruments-Credit Losses (ASC 326) is desirable, but not required.

Compensation

The estimated salary range for this role is $50,000-$65,000, along with eligibility to earn an annual bonus. Actual salaries may vary based on several factors, such as a candidate's qualifications, skills and experience.
