QUALITY CONTROL TECHNICIAN LEAD (Manufacturing)

The QC Lead Technician is the first line of support for Technicians and acts as a backup to the QC Supervisor when necessary. Performs assigned tasks to assure adherence to food safety, quality, procedures and customer specifications. Controls and dispositions nonconforming materials. Audits, conducts inspections, reports non-conformances, and assists in root cause analyses

  • The compensation range for this role is $24 to $27 per hour, in addition to KENT standard benefits (health, dental, vision, 401k). Final compensation is subject to variation based on the candidate's skills, job responsibilities, location and other pertinent factors.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Evaluate raw materials, in-process, and finished goods to ensure compliance with quality specifications and customer requirements.
  • Maintain accurate testing records and issue Certificates of Analysis (COAs) as needed.
  • Conducts sanitation and swab testing of production equipment; lead internal and customer sanitation audits.
  • Performs daily equipment checks, including scale and metal detector verifications, to ensure operational accuracy.
  • Supports calibration and verification of lab equipment and coordinate external sample testing.
  • Investigates customer complaints using retain samples and contribute to root cause analysis.
  • Ensure employee compliance with GMP and food safety standards through regular audits and training support.
  • Assist in maintaining Kosher and Halal certifications and manage aging and obsolete materials.
  • Participate in recall and mock recall procedures and support audit readiness efforts.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across Quality and Operations departments.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Work experience with a focus on Process and Packaging
  • 3 years of experience in a QA role with demonstrated leadership skills
  • 2 years of experience in the Food or Food Packaging industries, or experience with a firm that supports blending and packaging operations
  • Demonstrated experience of decision-making in accordance with requirements.
