The Maintenance Coordinator is the PM systems owner for their production areas and responsible for eliminating maintenance and breakdown related losses. The Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for building capability in Operating teams. Also including the following:

  • Active participation and leadership in CP2/DDS meetings
  • Oversee the coordination of Planned Stops in the assigned area.
  • Owns assignment of maintenance resources to execute planned stops, BDE process, including execution of corrective action across all relevant lines.
  • Spokesperson for the maintenance group during all DMS discussions.
  • Technical expert in the assigned area, including mechanical, electrical, and controls systems, and a thorough understanding of the process.
  • Responsible for leading a team which supports the site in consistently meeting or exceeding safety, quality, environmental, regulatory, financial, and product supply goals.

Responsibilities

  • Own PM systems for the Line, focusing on Maintenance Planning and Scheduling and Breakdown Elimination.
  • Drives results in Planned and Unplanned Downtime, and owns:
  • Maintain & Repair costs for line
  • % Planned Maintenance and PM compliance.
  • Breakdown reduction
  • Technical expert of related equipment and discuss, coach, and train technicians and operators on this equipment.
  • Perform all the duties of a senior mechanical/electrical technician at the highest levels of technical proficiency.
  • Owns Abnormality Handling DMS
  • Participates in the development and owns portions of the Line's 90-Day loss-elimination plans.
  • Represent maintenance team in the daily FMOS meetings. Provides performance data for selected machines and communicates action plans and completed work effectively
  • Owns the Maintenance planning/scheduling and Breakdown DMS for the line
  • Leads process definition to identify Centerline targets and document standards
  • Develops control strategies to enable operators to respond to out of control situations
  • Analyzes line data to identify and prioritize loss elimination opportunities
  • Leads root cause problem solving efforts on key chronic losses for the line/dept
  • Coaches teams on Centerline DMS execution and problem solving skills
  • Recommends machine improvements to improve line efficiencies

Education & Professional Qualification

Minimum:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

Preferred:

  • Associate degree in a technical discipline, preferably in Industrial Maintenance/Technology.

Knowledge/Experience

  • Technical degree/trade certification or 2 years or equivalent manufacturing technician experience required.
  • Successful completion of Mars Apprenticeship Program or Co-op.

Minimum:

  • Possess a fundamental understanding of electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics and mechanical drawings in order to solve problems in a timely manner.
  • Ability to troubleshoot ac/dc electrical components including motor starters, switches and sensors found on all assigned equipment using basic test equipment such as multi-meters and amp probes.
  • Ability to troubleshoot basic pneumatic and mechanical drive systems at the component level on all assigned equipment, i.e. sorting systems and palletizing robots.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule as needed to support production needs and to conduct multi-task work in a very fast paced work environment
  • Willingness to develop required technical skills in welding, basic machinist and fabrication/layout skill sets.

Preferred:

  • Possess an advanced understanding of ac/dc electrical (up to 480-volt 3 phase), hydraulic and pneumatic schematics and mechanical drawings in order to solve problems in a timely manner.
  • Possess PLC/ Instrumentation troubleshooting skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent lifting/carrying (10-50 lbs.).
  • Frequent pushing/pulling (50-200 lbs.).
  • Frequent handling/gripping/bending/stooping.
  • Ability to work at elevated heights off a ladder or platform, climb stairs, leaning over equipment.
  • Ability to stand and / or work on feet for extended periods (minimum eight hours in one shift).
