Microsoft 365 Engineer – Hybrid (Engineering)



Be the backbone of Scripps Technology's collaboration ecosystem! As our Microsoft 365 Engineer, you'll design, implement, and manage innovative solutions that power collaboration across our local and national media organizations. Your expertise will directly impact how our teams create content that connects with audiences nationwide.
 

Scripps offers a hybrid / remote work option for this position.
 

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Lead our Microsoft 365 ecosystem including Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Exchange, and Power Platform
  • Partner with Information Security to design and implement robust cloud security and governance controls
  • Spearhead standardization initiatives across Scripps business units and drive adoption of collaborative technologies
  • Drive AI integration strategies to enhance our collaborative platforms
  • Design innovative solutions alongside business stakeholders on our technology platforms
  • Optimize system performance through proactive monitoring and performance tuning
     

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • Bachelor's degree in IT-related field or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years managing Microsoft 365 environments: Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams
  • Security & Governance Proficiency with Entra ID, Purview, and Defender
  • Proven ability to develop PowerShell scripts for automation, provisioning, and reporting
  • Email security expertise including gateway management and brand reputation
  • Experience with platform migrations between Microsoft 365 and other collaborative platforms
  • Experience deploying and managing AI services
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for resolving complex technical challenges
  • Communication: Excellent documentation and stakeholder engagement skills
     

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

  • ProofPoint or similar email security appliance administration experience
  • Okta or other third party IDP integrations experience
  • Low-code development using Power Apps, Logic Apps and Copilot Studio
  • SharePoint site design and Power Automate flow creation
  • Web development skills (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JSON, Microsoft Graph APIs)
