Global EH&S Director (Finance)

AHF Products has a great career opportunity for a Global EH&S Director at our headquarters in Mountville, Pa. As a Global EH&S Director, you will provide global leadership for AHF Products (AHF) environmental, health and safety (EHS) functions.  The ideal candidate will be energetic, passionate, and results-oriented with several years' experience within an organization with world-class safety performance.  We are looking for an experienced, credible leader with a history of leading safety performance to new levels and who has demonstrated the desire and ability to tenaciously lead change on a global scale. This role will also champion our environmental and product stewardship efforts in our dealings with customers, employees, the government and the communities in which we operate.

JOB DUTIES:

Qualified individuals must have the ability (with or without reasonable accommodation) to perform the following duties:

  • Capable of creating a compelling safety vision and strategy and effectively executing against the strategy to elevate safety performance to world-class levels globally.
  • Partner with the Plant EH&S leaders, Plant Managers, Supervisors and Safety Coordinators to provide overarching support for all manufacturing plants and EHS functions, ensuring the full implementation of Environmental Systems, Safety Systems, compliant Emergency Action Plans and integration of EHS processes into the production system of the plants, including but not limited to the following:
    • Hazard Communication, PPE, Emergency Action Plans, Mobile Equipment, Cranes, Elevator, Confined Space, Hot Work, Asbestos, Hearing Conservation, LOTO, etc. and all associated training and Job Safety Analysis.
    • Proper operation of all required environmental programs, including: air quality management, hazardous/residual/universal waste management (including waste minimization), storm water, etc.
    • A compliant and fully documented process for environment health and safety permit compliance (Title V, etc.) and on-time submission of environmental reports – maintain the EHS calendar.
    • An effective EHS auditing and inspection process and accurate generation and maintenance of all required records.
    • An effective ergonomics program, industrial hygiene and environmental program.
    • Investigations of injury and environmental incidents are robust, reported and corrective action completed.
    • Management of the contractor safety and health process.
    • Prompt investigation of injuries, ensuring the employee receives necessary medical attention and the appropriate corrective actions are taken.
    • Management of worker compensation claims and return to work program.
    • Safety management process that includes safety training, including training and orientation for new employees, and supports of plant safety projects and improvements requiring localized engineering support.
    • Assist Plant EHS Managers in completing environmental reporting requirements, investigating and reporting environmental incidents, and set-up required environmental systems.
    • Oversight and support on completion of air permit applications.
    • Develop Spill Prevention, Control, & Countermeasures (SPCC) plans
    • Serves as primary executive contact with relevant government agencies; acts as the organization's representative at environmental and regulatory hearings and legislative meetings.
    • Leads the development and implementation of global EH&S policies to ensure compliance with all relevant laws/regulations.
    • Ensures policies, programs, and processes are in place for crisis plans and threat assessment.
    • Validates that processes for measuring and auditing adherence to corporate EH&S policies are in place; ensures audits are effectively conducted across all manufacturing locations.
    • Accountable for risk identification, mitigation & training programs and continuously improving safety measures (recordable rate, days away rate, and notices of violation).
    • Champions the recruitment, training, and development of qualified professional employees to drive world-class performance across all facilities.
    • Provides on-boarding training and development for new EHS Managers. Mentors EHS Managers in new & existing plants and integrates them during acquisitions.
    • Participates in recordable injury and other reportable event investigations, root cause analysis and corrective action determination
    • Provides safety and environmental compliance and Workers' Compensation case management for AHF headquarters office, Sales, and Marketing, and support for North America manufacturing locations
    • Develops AHF internal exposure standards and implementation plans. Reviews results of all exposure assessments and coaches EHS Managers on follow-up
    • Maintains and manages EHS corporate audit process. Leads audits and follows up with facilities on completion of corrective actions.
    • Manages Ergonomics process world-wide. Provides or coordinates ergonomic training to plant teams as needed.
    • Creates, reviews and updates AHF EHS standards and training
    • Monitors, communicates and provides training for applicable EPA and OSHA regulatory changes
    • Meets with and makes presentations/recommendations to senior management regarding EHS issues
    • Works with EHS Managers to increase the effectiveness of the AHF systems for safety, ergonomics and environment
    • Maintains EHS data and statistics and produces metric reports for business analysis and performance tracking and reporting.
    • Maintain SDS library and coordinate with EHS managers to consistently apply standards for hazard level compliance and what is allowed on plant sites along with the HazCom associated.

TRAVEL:

  • 30-40% based on assignments and responsibilities

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Environmental, Health & Safety or a closely related technical discipline
  • 7 – 10 years applicable experience in management of environmental, health and safety systems
  • Ability to influence EHS leaders globally in an effort to direct consistent application of AHF systems and expectations
  • Must be able to successfully complete and pass a background check, employment verification and drug screening
  • Positive and Verifiable Work History

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • CSP, CIH or ability to obtain professional certification
