Kimberly-Clark is looking for an ambitious, self-driven and talented individual to drive competitive landscape assessment, benchmarking, and strategic planning to identify opportunities for end-to-end value stream. Reporting to the Director of EVS Competitive Strategy, the incumbent will be responsible for value stream strategic planning process, building global connected data/analytics to identify opportunities and inform one tissue value stream strategy. The Senior Manager is expected to independently partner with the values stream teams (commercial, R&D and supply chain) in competitive strategy development projects across a range of situations, including full value stream strategies for select categories as well as functional specific strategies, playbooks, and plans. Seeking a strategic thinker with strong leadership abilities, collaborative mindset, deep analytical skills, exceptional communication skills, and a passion for driving results.

In this role, you:

Competitive Assessment and Benchmarking:

  • Establish the process and routinely update competitive supply chain intelligence research on key parameters, competitor moves and overall value stream for assigned categories and platforms
  • Create and maintain competitive profiles for key competitors (financials, footprint, key investments/divestments, etc.)
  • Understand drivers of success among competition, key value enablers and comparative metrics – connecting ABU segment/sector market & competitive landscape, drivers & opportunities to inform our strategies & priorities.
  • Analyze quantitative and qualitative sources of competitive intelligence including conducting expert interviews as needed
  • Direct and directly execute data analysis for delivery of strategic projects including financial modeling and insight analysis on large, complex data sets
  • Lead external TDC benchmarking efforts to proactively generate competitive insights at a cadenced frequency.
  • Connect the dots with sister competitive functions in commercial and R&D organizations for an end-to-end view
  • Articulate the value proposition of our competitive strategy and influence resource allocation and investment decisions.

Value Stream Strategic planning:

  • Detail advantaged actions and initiatives that can set up value chain for cost efficiency, deliver target cost savings and drive consumer value.
  • Translate business / enterprise strategy and objectives to value stream requirements.
  • Coordinate with capital teams for sufficiency planning, and ensure strong capital efficiency (improve ROIC)
  • Develop strong commercial partnership and deep understanding of customers and consumers.

Value Stream Optimization:

  • Champion and facilitate the connected strategy and framework development for Personal Care and Tissue
  • Own thought leadership for problem definition, project scoping, analytical approach and work planning
  • Support fact base development as part of personal care and tissue value stream assessments

Functional Skills:

  • Written and Verbal Communication: Excellent communication and presentation skills, including strong PowerPoint / deck-writing skills; capable of catering a message appropriately for a given audience
  • Structured Problem Solving: Brings structure to ambiguous problems and possesses the ability to frame key questions and develop a workplan to answer them.
  • Analytical and Quantitative: Strong analytical and quantitative skills and the ability to independently generate strategic insights.
  • Financial Analyses: Ability to analyze P&L trends and diagnose issues, articulate financial impact of findings/recommendations to senior leadership
  • Data Visualization: Strong technical acumen and proficiency in advanced PowerPoint data visualizations (e.g., Mekko charts) to succinctly highlight trends and key insights
  • Business Judgment: Possesses insight and understanding in dealing with risks and opportunities in business that is likely to lead to favorable outcomes.
  • Project Management: Ability to scope projects, manage teams, deliver results against set expectations, timelines, and budgets, etc.
  • Consumer (CPG and Retail) Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of key competitive players, dynamics and trends, key industry analyses and metrics, etc.
  • Influence and Stakeholder Management: Ability to manage and influence senior-level stakeholders
  • Change Management: Capable of understanding organizational dynamics, individual incentives, and barriers to change to implement new ways of working in line with business priorities
  • Knowledge and Enthusiasm for K-C: Knowledge of the K-C organization, brands, metrics, etc.; enthusiastic about the potential strategic options facing Kimberly-Clark.
  • Agile and Versatile: Demonstrated track record of success working in a fast-paced setting.

To succeed in this role, you will need the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in analytical discipline like Engineering, Supply Chain, Economics, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in highly analytical roles, including Corporate Strategy, Management Consulting, Business Analysis and/or Insights and Analytics roles
  • Proven experience in competitive strategy with direct experience at a CPG (Tissue or Personal Care) or retailer
  • Occasional global travel may be required to support projects as needed (up to 25%)

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of consulting experience with one of the blue-chip strategy consulting firms or comparable strategy consulting firm / function.

Salary Range: 157,720 – 194,760 USD

At Kimberly-Clark, pay is just one aspect of our total rewards package, which also includes a variety of benefits and opportunities to achieve, thrive and grow. Along with base pay, this position offers eligibility for a target bonus and a comprehensive benefits suite, including our 401(k) and Profit Sharing plan. The anticipated base pay range for this role is provided above for a fully qualified hire. Actual pay will depend on several factors, such as location, role, skills, performance, and experience. Please note that the stated pay range applies to US locations only.
