Collections Supervisor (Finance)



Job Description

A Collections Supervisor oversees the collections team, ensuring timely and efficient recovery of outstanding debts. They manage daily operations, set performance goals, and implement strategies to improve collection rates while maintaining compliance with regulations. Additionally, they handle escalated issues and provide training and support to team members.

The compensation for this role will be commensurate based on education and/or experience.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Supervises the Collections Team: Manage and supervise the daily activities of the collections team to ensure efficient and effective debt recovery.
  • Oversee administration of PTO requests and timekeeping.
  • Develops and implements strategies to enhance collection rates and reduce delinquency.
  • Monitors and evaluates team performance to ensure collection targets are met.
  • Ensures compliance with company policies and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Prepares and presents regular reports on collection activities and performance metrics.
  • Collaborate with other departments to resolve customer disputes and improve collection processes.
  • Identifies and addresses potential risks and implement preventive measures.

What We Are Looking For
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or a relevant field; or the equivalent work
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in collections management or related role.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Knowledge of debt collection laws and regulations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and collections software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with clients and team members.
  • OFFICE: The role requires mobility within work environments, use of office equipment, lifting up to 20 pounds, clear vision and hearing, effective communication skills, and occasional travel for meetings and training sessions.
