Happy Hour Cook (Food Services)



Position Summary:

The Happy Hour Cook is responsible for preparing and executing a menu of quick, high-quality small plates and appetizers served during the restaurant or bar's happy hour period.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Exceed Member expectations
  • Prepare and cook a variety of quick bites, bar snacks, and shareable small plates
  • Execute items such as sliders, wings, flatbreads, fries, dips, and other appetizers with speed and accuracy
  • Ensure all food is cooked to order and plated attractively
  • Maintain consistent portion sizes and presentation in line with kitchen standards
  • Check ingredients for freshness and rotate stock as needed
  • Follow recipes and portion controls to limit waste and control food cost
  • Follow proper sanitation and food storage standards
  • Prep food or follow recipes for menu items
  • Positive, Cooperative attitude toward all co-workers and management
  • Flexibility among special requests or changes
  • Support the rest of the kitchen team during non-happy hour times as needed
  • Ensure proper use and cleaning of kitchen equipment
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times
  • Must follow kitchen team cleaning schedules
  • Follow and maintain culinary standards set by the Sous Chefs

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

  • Ability to prep and plate up ala carte and special event appetizers and entrees
  • Responsible for maintaining par stocks of daily items
  • Ability to read daily event orders and prep sheets
  • Ability to accommodate special requests from members

Education & Work Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in food preparation position is required
  • Country Club experience a plus
  • Degree from a post-secondary culinary arts training program preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift 30 lbs.; work in an upright standing or sitting position for long periods, may fluctuate.
  • May handle, finger, grasp, and lift objects and packages.
  • Reach with hands and arms, communicate, receive, and exchange ideas and information. Ability to navigate the property/building quickly and efficiently to meet the job functions; complete all required forms.
