What we are looking for:

The Center for Early Childhood Professional Development is currently looking for an Oklahoma Registry Advisor. You will partner alongside us to help us review and evaluate applications that have been submitted for our recognition and credentialing programs. Known as the Oklahoma Director's Credential (ODC) and the Oklahoma Professional Development Ladder (PDL), these programs verify formal education, early childhood experience, and training to award a participant at a certain level. The various levels provide milestones for childcare providers and connect with other areas of the state's professional development system.

This position is a hybrid position. After a training period, you will only be required to work in the office one day a week and will work remotely the rest!

 Responsibilities:

  • Review ODC and PDL applications, education, and documentation to determine if applicants meet program requirements and level criteria
  • Place applicants on appropriate levels utilizing the OPDR software and issue certificates 
  • Communicate with applicants who do not qualify and update notes in the OPDR software, as needed 
  • Keep accurate records of all contacts and enter a summary of discussions with participants in the database notes 
  • Advise applicants, participants, and CECPD funders, partners, and staff regarding ODC and PDL requirements, levels, and timelines 
  • Verify training documents and other application information as needed 
  • Review college-level course descriptions to determine if classes will apply toward early childhood/child development and business/administration requirements 
  • Review/re-evaluate applications for level placement as requested by participants 
  • Promote Registry programs and provide information through presentations, site visits, conference exhibit staffing, and phone contact 
  • Meet application processing and performance reporting deadlines according to established guidelines and procedures 
  • Track data and activities as directed by supervisor 
  • Participate in scheduled team and center-wide meetings and required OU Outreach events 
  • Submit time certification biweekly 
  • Submit claims for applicable work travel monthly 
  • Perform related duties as assigned

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00 am-5:00 pm, including some evenings and weekends. Some travel will be required.

Required Education: Bachelor's Degree, AND:  

  •  24 months experience working with professional development systems or similar programs

Equivalency/Substitution: Will accept 48 months experience in lieu of the Bachelor's degree for a total of 72 months of experience

Skills:

  • Ability to speak, read and write clear, concise English
  • Ability to accurately read and understand written materials and instructions
  • Basic computer skills
  • Detail-oriented for accuracy of data and information
  • Highly organized and able to handle multiple projects and deadlines
  • Strong initiative to solve problems
  • General office skills such as multi-line phone, copying, filing, faxing, and mail
  • Customer service
  • Knowledge of correct grammatical structure, vocabulary, and formats
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office
  • Ability to type on a keyboard with minimal errors

Certifications:

  • Valid driver's license

  • Ability to engage in repetitive motions, and grasp objects with fingers or hands.
  • Ability to communicate, including expressing oneself or exchanging information with others both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to see, including color, depth perception, and clarity.
  • Ability to lift 30 pounds.
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time.
  • Ability to work effectively with frequent exposure to pressure caused by deadlines, busy periods, and a high volume of public contact.

 Departmental Preferences:

  • Bachelor's degree in early childhood education, child development, family relations, elementary education, or related
  • Knowledge of Oklahoma Professional Development Registry
  • Knowledge of Oklahoma Child Care Licensing Requirements
  • Knowledge of Oklahoma Reaching for the Stars program
  • Experience working in early childhood or public school setting

 Supervision: No Supervisory Duties
