Investment Analyst (Finance)



Job Summary

The Junior Investment Analyst will support the investment team by performing entry-level tasks to ensure accurate data management, reporting, and portfolio monitoring. This role is ideal for someone starting their career in investment operations, offering opportunities to learn and grow within the team.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in maintaining a database of portfolio positions to support internal reporting.
  • Responsible for cash matching in PAM system.
  • Help ensure accuracy and integrity of investment data in reporting systems.
  • Responsible for PAR (Unit) and cash reconciliations.
  • Support collaboration with investment managers, custodians, and internal teams to verify data accuracy.
  • Contribute to preparing weekly, monthly, and quarterly investment reports for stakeholders.
  • Help maintain and update reporting templates.
  • Conduct basic analysis of investment performance across asset classes (e.g., bonds, equities and alternatives).
  • Help monitor and report on aggregate cash positions across portfolios.
  • Perform ad hoc data collection and basic investment/risk analysis as needed.
  • Support the team with preparation of the statutory investment schedules   (Schedule D).

•                  Compensation:

The below annualized base pay range is based on analysis of similar positions in the market. The actual base pay for the position may be above or below the listed range and determined by a number of considerations, including but not limited to complexity, location, and scope of the role, along with experience, skills, education, training, and other conditions of employment. Base salary represents one component of Allied World's comprehensive total reward package, which may also include annual incentive compensation rewards.

Salary range:  $65,000 – 80,000

Qualifications

To be a strong candidate for this junior role, you should have the following background, skills, and mindset:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (recent graduates welcome).
  • Familiarity with the insurance industry is a plus but not required.
  • 0-1 years of experience in investment operations, reporting, or internships in related fields.
  • Basic understanding of financial concepts and regulatory requirements is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn analytical skills for asset reporting and portfolio monitoring.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic data analysis; exposure to investment data systems (e.g., PAM, SAP/SUN General Ledger) is a plus.
  • Clear communication skills and eagerness to work collaboratively across teams.
  • Organized and detail-oriented, with a proactive approach to completing tasks.
  • Ability to recognize issues and apply basic problem-solving skills.
  • Curiosity and enthusiasm for learning about investments and financial markets.
  • Openness to adopting new technologies to improve processes.
  • Commitment to professional growth and development through training and mentorship.
