Sr. Financial Analyst - Accounting (Finance)

The Sr. Accounting Analyst will support the Global Controller in executing accurate and timely month-end close processes, with a strong focus on revenue recognition, audit readiness, and financial reporting. This role will ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting standards, while also driving improvements in data quality and reporting efficiency.What you'll be doing

Month-end Close & Reconciliation

  • Perform and review key account reconciliations.
  • Prepare and analyze revenue cutoff entries on a quarterly basis.
  • Support key reports (IPE) reconciliation processes to ensure data integrity.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies in revenue-related accounts and transactions.

Revenue Analysis & Controls
  • Conduct price and quantity testing to validate revenue transactions.
  • Analyze large orders and identify at-risk revenue items.
  • Review and document price overrides and contracts not executed.
  • Monitor and analyze net credits, issuing recommendations for process improvements.

Audit & Compliance
  • Serve as a liaison for internal and external audit requests related to revenue.
  • Prepare and maintain audit schedules and documentation for revenue-related accounts.
  • Ensure compliance with US GAAP and internal accounting policies.
  • Support SOX compliance efforts related to revenue and other close processes.

Reporting & Metrics
  • Prepare and distribute KPI and DSO reporting packages.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to track revenue trends and close month-end activities and anomalies.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting packages.
  • Provide variance analysis and commentary on revenue and related metrics.

Process Improvement & Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Participate in transformational projects and their initiatives include data cleansing and process automation.
  • Collaborate with Sales Operations, IT, and Finance teams to improve data flow and reporting accuracy and internal controls.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for process standardization and efficiency.
  • Support system upgrades and enhancements related to revenue recognition and reporting.

Ad Hoc Analysis & Projects
  • Provide analytical support for special projects, including revenue modeling and scenario analysis.
  • Assist in the development and documentation of accounting policies and procedures.
  • Support business case development for new revenue streams or pricing strategies.
  • Holds oneself and others accountable to conduct business in a manner compliant with Bioventus' Code of Compliance and Ethics, policies and procedures and internal controls applicable to their role.
  • Other duties as assigned

What you'll bring to the table

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting, preferably in a public company environment.
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP, especially revenue recognition principles.
  • Experience with SAP, Business Objects and other reporting tools, and Blackline preferred.
  • Advanced Excel skills; experience with data visualization tools is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
