What's the role?

The SAP Business Process Expert is responsible for all local SAP-related tasks to ensure smooth business operations and a continuous improvement of the local SAP solution. They are the first point of escalation for the key users in terms of SAP support. At the same time, the SAP Business Process Expert is the business' first local contact for any SAP-related change requests and projects and acts as their interface to the Regional Solution Center.

The SAP Business Process Expert will also be responsible for analyzing, designing, and implementing business processes within the SAP environment, specifically focusing on Materials Management (MM), Inventory Management (IM), Sales and Distribution (SD), and Production Planning (PP). This role requires a deep understanding of business operations and the ability to translate business requirements into effective SAP solutions.

The position locally reports to the Head of Operations and has a dotted reporting line to the Business Group Information Officer (BG-IO).

Here's what you'll do:

  • Be the first point of contact for the business regarding SAP-related change requests and project demands.
  • Be the business' interface to the Regional Solution Center Americas.
  • Translating business requirements into functional specifications.
  • Planning, coordinating and overseeing Non-Regression Tests (NRT) to mitigate business risks of changes introduced by Business Releases and Maintenance Releases.
  • Manage local SAP authorizations according to corporate guidelines.
  • Be the first point of escalation for the key users in terms of SAP support
  • Supporting SAP-related rollout-, change-, and optimization projects.
  • Providing training to SAP end users.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Business Process Analysis: Evaluate current business processes and identify areas for improvement within MM, IM, SD, and PP modules.
  • Solution Design: Collaborate with stakeholders to design and document SAP solutions that meet business needs while adhering to best practices.
  • Implementation Support: Lead the implementation of SAP solutions, including configuration, testing, and deployment of MM, IM, SD, and PP functionalities.
  • User Training and Support: Develop training materials and conduct training sessions for end-users to ensure effective use of SAP systems.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments (e.g., Finance, Logistics, Production) to ensure seamless integration of processes across the organization.
  • Troubleshooting and Support: Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for SAP-related issues, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of business processes, system configurations, and user manuals.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on SAP best practices and industry trends to recommend enhancements and optimizations to existing processes

Do you qualify?

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in business administration, Information Technology, or a related field. A Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., SAP Certified Application Associate) is a plus.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in SAP MM, IM, SD, and PP modules, with a proven track record of successful implementations.
  • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of SAP configuration, integration points, and data flow between MM, IM, SD, and PP modules. Basic understanding of how SAP Access and Role design works in SA. Strong understanding and hands on experience in SAP Variant configuration (KMAT), SAP Cross-company Purchasing and sales process, SAP Sub-contracting process, SAP Vendor consignment process, SAP Master data which includes Material master, Vendor master and Customer master data. Basic knowledge of SAP with other third-party software interfaces is beneficial.
  • Analytical Skills: Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex business requirements and translate them into SAP solutions.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Project Management: Experience in project management methodologies and tools is preferred.

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of SAP S/4HANA and its functionalities.
  • Familiarity with other SAP modules such as Finance (FI) and Controlling (CO).
  • Experience in conducting workshops and facilitating discussions with business users.

The annual pay range for this position is $134,000 - $167,000.

The pay offered for this role may be influenced by factors such as job location, scope of role, qualifications, education, experience, & complexity/specialization/scarcity of talent.

This position is also eligible for a performance bonus or sales commissions. ZEISS also offers robust benefits, including medical plans, retirement savings plan and paid time off.
