Purpose and Scope of Job:
The Corporate Training Specialist will be a key team member in the development and implementation of training programs at Sumitomo Drive Technologies. This individual will collaborate with the training team and departmental leaders to support a comprehensive training infrastructure for employee onboarding, on-the-job training, and professional development. The specialist will help identify training needs, develop relevant content, assist in delivering training sessions, and provide administrative support to the team. This role is crucial in helping to build a culture of continuous learning and ensuring that employees have the skills and knowledge to succeed in their roles.

Essential Functions (other duties may be assigned):
Training Needs Assessment and Planning:
o Assist in conducting a comprehensive inventory and assessment of all existing departmental training materials.
o Collaborate with department managers to identify training needs, skill gaps, and performance improvement opportunities.
o Assist in developing and maintaining a company-wide training plan that aligns with business objectives and addresses identified needs.
Training Content Development and Standardization:
o Design, develop, and update engaging and effective training materials, including e-learning modules, videos, job aids, presentations, and instructor-led training manuals.
o Work with department managers to consolidate, normalize, and update existing training content, ensuring consistency in style, format, and messaging.
o Convert in-person training materials to online or blended learning formats to improve accessibility and scalability where applicable.
o Ensure all training materials are accurate, up-to-date, and aligned with company policies and industry best practices
Training Delivery and Facilitation:
o Conduct weekly new employee orientation sessions, providing a comprehensive overview of the company, its culture, and essential policies and procedures.
o Deliver engaging and interactive training sessions to employees on a variety of topics, including departmental procedures, on-the-job skills, safety protocols, and company-wide initiatives.
o Assist department managers in coordinating and organizing departmental training activities.
o Develop and implement a "train-the-trainer" program to build internal training capacity within departments.
Onboarding and Employee Development:
o Develop and manage a structured onboarding program for new hires, including department-specific onboarding plans and regular check-ins during the first six months.
o Organize new employee cohorts to foster a sense of community and provide ongoing support.
o Work with department managers to create individualized training paths for employees, aligning training with career development goals.
Program Management and Evaluation:
o Maintain accurate training records for all employees, tracking their progress and completion of required training.
o Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through assessments, surveys, and performance data analysis.
o Continuously improve training programs based on feedback and evaluation results.
o Stay up-to-date on industry best practices and emerging trends in training and development.
Internship Program Management:
o Plan, organize, and manage the company's internship program.
Develop training and development opportunities for interns, ensuring a valuable learning experience.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Education, Business Administration, or a related field.3+ years of experience as a corporate trainer or in a similar training and development role.Proven experience in designing, developing, and delivering training programs.Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is preferred.Communication, Presentation, and Facilitation: Effectively conveys information and ideas clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing. Able to engage an audience, deliver compelling presentations, and guide group discussions or training sessions to achieve desired outcomes.Project Management: Capable of managing multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, setting priorities, and meeting deadlines. Demonstrates the ability to plan, execute, and track project progress efficiently from start to finish.Teamwork & Independence: Functions effectively both as a team member and as an individual contributor. Can work autonomously on assigned tasks while also contributing positively to group efforts and overall team goals.Initiative & Self-Starter: Takes proactive steps to address tasks and challenges without needing explicit direction. Seeks out opportunities for improvement and acts on them.Willingness to Act: Makes timely decisions and moves forward with tasks to achieve objectives.Accountability & Responsibility: Takes full ownership of their work, actions, and decisions.
