Manager - ALLETE Security and Emergency Management (Finance)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide overall leadership and direction for organization-wide security and emergency management policy and programs.
  • Lead the development and execution of a clear protective security and emergency preparedness strategy to manage organization security and emergency management risks.
  • Oversee the creation and maintenance of all security and emergency management standards ensuring the preparedness, prevention, mitigation and response to threats and all-hazard situations.
  • Provide expertise on security and emergency management practices and methodologies.
  • Lead both organization threat and all-hazards monitoring, investigation and analysis.
  • Ensure the integration and upgrading of emerging technology into organization enterprise systems, while ensuring departmental personnel readiness and qualifications.
  • Ensure compliance with a wide variety of required security standards and regulations.
  • Responsible to ensure employees, contractors, vendors, and visitors complete training on applicable security and emergency management policies, practices and procedures.
  • Establish effective relationships with security and emergency management leaders from public and private agencies and proactively engage in applicable forums, committees and commissions.
  • High level of interpersonal and communication skills required to establish and maintain positive working relationships inside and outside the company.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:
  • Bachelor's degree required.
    • Degree in Security Administration, Criminal Justice, Law preferred

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
  • Seven years or more specific job-related work experience in the areas mentioned above.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • This position may be considered for a hybrid work arrangement based on ALLETE's needs. A Hybrid work arrangement means the employee's position will be a blend of work performed both in-person and at an offsite location such as an employee's home office. This position will report to Duluth, MN
  • The following professional certifications are preferred:
    • CPP (Certified Protection Professional)
    • PSP (Physical Security Professional)
    • PCI (Professional Certified Investigator)
  • This position may be subject to assessment of skills, job match and/or aptitude.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
  • The expected annual compensation range for this position is $105,000 - $139,000. Compensation offered to the selected candidate will vary depending on relevant knowledge, skills, training, experience, and market conditions.
